BASE Legacy™ Strengthening Communities Through Softball BASE Legacy™ is more than a softball tournament — it is a community-driven initiative designed to give back to one deserving high school softball program each year in a meaningful and lasting way. 

At its core, BASE Legacy exists to recognize schools that have poured into their athletes and communities despite facing challenges such as limited funding, aging facilities, lack of resources, or economic hardship. This event is about impact over trophies, and legacy over headlines. 

How BASE Legacy Works BASE Legacy is built on a transparent, community-first selection process:    

 1.    National Nominations High school softball programs across ARKANSAS(hoping this spreads to every state through our BASE LEGACY program, have a tournament director that would like to be a part of our mission? Have them email us at info@basetournament.com) may be nominated by coaches, parents, players, alumni, or community members. Nominations can come from around the world and are intended to highlight programs that are doing things the right way and could truly benefit from support.     

2.    Community Voting Phase Once nominations are open, communities are encouraged to rally behind their school. Voting will determine the Top 5 finalist programs, emphasizing community involvement, pride, and engagement.     

3.    Final Review & Selection A BASE Legacy committee will review and interview the Top 5 finalist schools to better understand their needs, leadership, culture, and overall impact. One high school program will be selected as the BASE Legacy Recipient.     

4.    The Legacy Event & Donation: The selected school will receive a significant donation, along with direct support tied to a BASE Legacy softball event. The goal is to provide assistance that creates lasting benefit — not a one-time gesture. What Makes BASE Legacy Different BASE Legacy is not about popularity alone, and it is not a traditional sponsorship or fundraiser. 

It is:    •   Purpose-driven, not profit-driven    •   Community-powered, not committee-only    •   Focused on long-term impact, not short-term recognition 

The selection process intentionally balances community support with thoughtful evaluation, ensuring the final recipient is a program where the investment will truly matter. 

The Role of BPAC BPAC (BASE PLAYER ADVISORY COUNCIL) serves as the philosophical backbone of BASE Legacy. BPAC represents BASE’s commitment to:    •   Character    •   Integrity    •   Accountability    •   Leadership    •   Positive culture in youth and high school athletics BASE Legacy is one of the clearest expressions of BPAC in action — rewarding programs that model strong values, invest in their athletes as people, and use softball as a tool to strengthen their school and community.

 High school softball programs play a critical role in shaping young women — often with limited resources and little recognition. BASE Legacy exists to shine a light on those programs, elevate their story, and provide tangible support that helps them continue their mission.
